With thousands of aircraft in the sky every day, precision aircraft maintenance plays a crucial role in protecting the safety of our Airmen and the integrity of their missions. At any time, Aircraft Maintenance Officers can be asked to fly around the world to provide repairs, deliver combat support, supervise training missions and perform air drops. Aircraft Maintenance Officers also direct all aspects of maintenance operations for aircraft, aircraft components and aviation support equipment as well as coordinate flying and maintenance schedules. They also perform aircraft inspections, implement flight line safety programs, supervise weapons loading and handle requisition and allocation of materials and tools.
