Medical Material Specialist

Career Description

You can't bandage a wound without bandages or administer medicine without meds. As a Medical Material Specialist, it will be up to you to make sure Air Force medical facilities have the supplies and equipment they need to treat our Airmen and their families. You'll learn to be prepared for any situation as you order, receive and store supplies ensuring that no matter what your facility needs, you have it on hand.

Career Tasks

  • Order medical and nonmedical supplies and equipment from government and civilian sources of supply for your medical treatment facility
  • Receive supplies from government and civilian supply sources
  • Complete and process numerous forms and documents
  • Operate government vehicles and material-handling equipment
  • Issue and deliver supplies to the various clinics and departments of your medical facility on a daily or weekly basis
  • Maintain computer records for the materials used in your medical facility
  • Perform inventories of all stock maintained in your warehouse storage area

Training

After eight-and-a-half weeks of Basic Military Training, every Airman goes to technical training to learn their career. Here's the basic information about Medical Material Specialist technical training:
