Career Description

As a Pharmacy Specialist, you'll play a vital role in keeping the men, women and families of the Air Force healthy. You'll work with a pharmacist to fill orders for medicines, as well as use formulas to make special drugs. Everyone in the Air Force has an important job to do, and doing yours to perfection will help keep everyone else healthy and working at their peak.

Career Tasks

• Interpret, fill and dispense prescriptions for patients
• Interpret drug orders for hospitalized patients and prepare doses to be given within the hospital
• Perform mathematical calculations to determine the amount of ingredients needed to compound drugs in forms not available from manufacturers
• Safeguard chemicals, drugs and mild narcotics

Training
