Based in Washington, D.C., the United States Air Force (USAF) Band is composed of some of our nation’s finest musicians to include vocalists, percussionists, string players, electric guitarists, pianists, brass and woodwind players, music arrangers and sound engineers. The USAF Band is the only Premier Band in the Air Force and performs throughout the United States and around the world in support of official military, recruiting and community outreach events.
- Perform with the USAF Concert Band, Ceremonial Brass, Airmen of Note jazz ensemble, Max Impact rock band, Air Force Strings, Singing Sergeants and various chamber ensembles
- Compose original works and arrange a variety of music for the unit’s diverse musical ensembles
- Lead various ensembles as musical director at drills, parades and ceremonies

To become an Airman in the Premier Band, you must qualify through a live audition. Applicants who pass the live audition will enter the unit directly after completing eight and a half weeks of Basic Military Training.
