As an Air Force Urologist, you'll provide care to your patients surrounded by top-notch colleagues in state-of-the-art facilities. And since you won't have to worry about running a practice, you can spend a majority of your time and energy helping patients.

Career Tasks

• Managing urological surgery services
• Prepare and review case histories, obtain data through interviews, examine patients, determine the X-ray exams and clinical lab tests required, interpret test results and evaluate examination findings
• Determine procedures and coordinate operations with anesthesiologists and administer and prescribe treatment

Becoming a Direct Commission Officer

To ease your transition into the Air Force, you'll enter a five-week training regimen designed to educate you on the ways of both the military and military healthcare. You'll participate in physical conditioning five days a week, leadership training and classroom studies.
