In Flight, Safety First
From airplanes to flight gear, each tool, widget and cog must be functioning properly to ensure an aircrew’s success. But there’s one thing that aircrews rely on more than anything else: their life support team.
Life support teams provide a myriad of important roles. First, they provide equipment to keep the crewmembers alive in case of an emergency. Secondly, they ensure crewmembers are familiar and trained on the procedures and use of the equipment that could potentially save their lives, and finally they provide the final check-point before an aircrew’s flight.
Life support teams are also instrumental in saving the lives of our Airmen. In the event of an ejection, they play an important role in everything from the opening of a parachute to the rescue of a downed aircrew.
