Air Force Steps Up Hurricane Preparedness

June 1st marked the official beginning of hurricane season – but the Air Force has been preparing for months. One such measure, the Rapid Hurricane Response Plan, has been developed by the Air Force Critical Care Air Transport Team.

With this new measure in place, the Air Force will have six teams of critical care physicians, nurses and cardiopulmonary technicians standing by to save lives during national emergencies, such as last year’s Hurricane Katrina disaster.

Experts are predicting an extremely active 2006 hurricane season. With our new rapid response teams in place, The Air Force is more prepared than ever.
