Airman Gilman Puts Career on Right Flightpath

Airman Gilman Puts Career on Right Flightpath

Airman 1st Class Stormi Samantha Gilman works as an Air Traffic Controller in the 47th Operations Support Squadron, guiding pilots safely in and out of the Del Rio, Texas skies.

When Gilman left her hometown of San Jose, California at 18, she was at a loss for career options because of her young age.

Gilman decided to join the Air Force to get hands-on experience and technical training while setting a good example for her nieces and nephews. She expected to work hard and learn a great deal of self-discipline, but didn’t yet know the impact her fellow Airmen would have on her life.

Gilman now feels a special connection to her work and considers her fellow Airmen family. She never tires of the constant fulfillment she gets helping Air Force pilots leave and return safely to their families. When she isn't performing serious duties as an Air Traffic Controller, she enjoys performing comedic acting with the Del Rio Upstagers Theater group.
