Dietitians are responsible for promoting sound nutrition practices and providing a supportive environment for in-garrison and deployed military operations that optimize human performance. To ensure this, you'll perform a variety of management and clinical duties, including nutrition assessment and patient education, menu planning, conducting patient interviews and training nutrition personnel. You'll also formulate and implement policies for nutritional medicine service and serve as an adviser to a commander in matters of nutrition and dietetics. PAY CHART
Dietetic Internship information: The Air Force dietetic intern enters the program as an officer in the United States Air Force. In addition to preparing our interns to be entry-level dietitians, our curriculum emphasizes those skills needed by military dietitians to assume the diverse responsibilities of supporting the U.S. Armed Forces. Air Force interns currently train at Wilford Hall Medical Center with minimal rotations at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
