Physician Assistant

Your excellent clinical skills are just the start. Whether assigned to a large medical center with all the specialties available to you or at a remote forward-operating base where you're the only medical officer on site, as an Air Force physician assistant (PA), you'll be challenged to your full potential. Within the physician/physician assistant relationship, PAs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The clinical role of Air Force physician assistants is primarily in family practice, but Air Force fellowships in areas such as orthopedics and emergency medicine are available for those wanting to enter specialty practice. Physician assistants deploy to provide medical expertise in wartime, humanitarian and peacekeeping missions. PA practice is centered on quality patient care, clinical teaching, patient education, research and leadership activities. PAY CHART
