The nurse anesthetist (CRNA) ensures that all operations and surgeries are as painless as possible. In this role, you will administer anesthetic agents to patients and monitor their reactions to anesthesia and surgery. You will also provide or supervise postoperative recovery care. Your responsibilities will include the management of the anesthesia department. You will provide or supervise services in support of patients with respiratory care requirements. You will also assist with the training of personnel in venipuncture and intravenous therapy, respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and anesthesia under the direction of a medical officer. Your responsibilities include performing preoperative evaluations and preparations, administering anesthetics and advising the anesthesiologist of adverse reactions necessitating nondelegated medical decisions.
