- Examine, diagnose, and treat disabilities
- Prepare and review case histories and clinical records
- Provide medical management for disabling conditions
- Prescribe treatment options and prosthetic applications
- Serve as a consultant on physical medicine and rehabilitation

Officer Training School
5.5 weeks

Military Training Location
Maxwell AFB, AL

A Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree from an approved school of medicine or osteopathy

- Completion of a residency or fellowship in physical medicine and rehabilitation
- Obtain and maintain clinical privileges after completing Graduate Medical Education (GME) training at the first duty station
- A state license to practice medicine
- Completion of Officer Training School
- Must be at least 18 years old and not have reached your 48th birthday
