FAQ

Bonus eligibility varies depending on the career you’d like to pursue, when you can start, the length of your enlistment contract and whether you’ve served in the military before. Talk to a recruiter to verify your personal eligibility.

Yes, officers and enlisted members have different bonus opportunities to explore depending on length of contract, job type and skill level.
-
Bonuses are initially awarded in half after the completion of technical training. The remaining half is paid out over the remainder of your contract. For example, if someone receives a $50,000 bonus on a 6-year enlistment, $25,000 of that will be paid after technical training, and the remaining $25,000 will be disbursed throughout the remaining years of their contract ($5,000 per year for the 5 years left on their 6-year contract).
The Air National Guard (ANG) pays bonuses out in equal payments in a year-over-year cycle for 5 years, starting when the member completes technical training. For example, if you are awarded a $50,000 bonus upon entering the ANG, you will receive the first increment of $10,000 approximately two months after completing technical training. Every year thereafter, you will receive the remaining increments of $10,000 until the bonus has been satisfied.

Military bonuses are subject to taxation at the time of payment. The tax rate will vary.
